BILL for the Establishment of a Federal University of Technology in Cross River State: A New Dawn for Odukpani

 The recent BILL sponsored on the floor of the Nigerian Senate for the Establishment of a Federal University of Technology in Cross River State has been met with widespread ovation, particularly among the indigenes of Odukpani Local Government Area. 

This development has ignited passionate discussions across communities within Odukpani, centered on the preferred location for the siting of this landmark institution. This BILL, spearheaded by the Distinguished and high-performing Senator representing Cross River South, who hails from Odukpani, is yet another in a series of people-centred, developmentally strategic, and globally aligned initiatives. These include impactful bills, empowerment programmes, and infrastructural projects aimed at elevating the socio-economic status of constituents and catalyzing long-term human development. As conversations on the location of the proposed University unfold, it is imperative that such discourse is guided by objectivity, developmental foresight, and equity, rather than parochial interests. 

The choice of location within Odukpani should be informed by factors such as availability of Land and accessibility, security and stability, existing infrastructure and expansion potential, and centrality within the Local Government.
